Two wheeled trolleys tend to have hard rubber tyres and can cost a lot less than the three-wheeled types.
  • 3 Wheel Manual trolleys;  Most all electric trolleys are three wheeled and are easy to use and more stable than the manual two wheeled alternatives. With the trolleys being 3 wheeled allowing you to you can walk next to it as it travels.

The battery power – as most (not Precision) trolleys can be very heavy to push if the battery runs out.

  • Problems with golf trolley battery leads and connections.  Watch out for damage to a battery lead.
  • Check how long does the battery lasts on a single charge.
  • Check the Amp capacity usually measured in Amps per hour (Ah) this can vary from 18Ah to 33Ah for the large twin motor remote electric golf trolleys.
  • Check the life span of the battery, how many cycles of charge it is specified for.
  • The price of electric trolleys can be quite expensive, but in the long run it will be a good investment.

Frame Material

Aluminium; The great benefit of aluminium is its extremely lightweight construction. The trolley will seem very light and will glide round the course.

Steel; Steel although a very strong material has its drawbacks due to the weight of the material and frame. This causes problems with either manual or electric trolleys because of the effort needed to move the trolleys especially uphill. It also can be a problem downhill as the extra weight can sometimes be very uncomfortable in resisting the trolley to run away from you.

  • Battery – Check out not the claim of the supplier but the amp per hour capacity (Ah) when comparing electric golf trolleys.   • Does it fold easily and weight of the trolley – All good suppliers should supply you the details on folding, storage, pictures, videos, actual weight.  Fitting into your locker, car or storage cupboard/locker.
  • Make sure you like the look of the trolleys – go with your instinct on the look if it looks right to you you will feel good about it on the golf course.
  • Design and ergonomics of the trolley – this really means is it easy to operate and suitable for your own ease of use.
  • The functions the electric golf trolley has incorporated into it – does it have easily detached wheels, does it have a digital read out, does it have a LED display panel, does it have a remote  auto-distance function.
